This is the best independent film I have ever seen. While most indie films go for drama or horror, the cheap films to make, Wyrmwood goes full on action! The beauty of this film is revealed in the first five minutes with a flash forward scene. The scene isn't the end of the movie, but rather the beginning of act 2. This shows our heroes dawned in their patchwork wasteland armor of leather, pads, and hockey masks as they blast zombies on their way to grab a truck. They have a simple mission: One guy's sister asked for help after her friends turned into zombies, so they gotta save her. Their method is to soup up a truck plow through the undead. While story does bring up new ideas to the zombie action genre, like concepts involving fuel and the sister having a power, it is a bit formulaic with evil government dudes doing evil experiments for... reasons becoming the baddies at the end. Even so those unique spins enthralling action and apocalypse armor is enough for me.
